Phillip Hillaire

Phillip Hillaire is a member of the Lummi Tribe. He is involved in protecting tribal sovereignty, cultures, arts and traditions. He has coordinated fundraising events for Native Arts and Cultures Foundation, and planned conferences and handled communications for the Affiliated Tribes of the Northwest Indians. At the National American Indian Housing Council, he was involved in all aspects of marketing and public relations while serving as the assistant to the communications director. At the National Museum of the American Indian, he gave tours as a culture interpreter for government and tribal delegations as well as for the general public, and incorporated his own culture and traditional knowledge. Moreover, he acquired a broad knowledge of cultures and traditions of many Native American philosophies from both South and North American tribes. Phillip graduated from Chemawa Indian High School and is currently pursuing Graphic Design at Portland Community College.
