The Center for the Arts Foundation is pleased to announce the long awaited arrival of Seattle Artist, Claudia Fitch’s FineTunedTulle public art project. Commissioned by the Center for the Arts Foundation in late 2008, the public art will come to fruition because of over $200,000 raised in private donations by the Foundation. Donors to the project include Sue O’Halloran and Allan Richard, John Killian, Mike & Diane McKeel, Steve Thoren, Dwight and Tracie Unit, The Gresham Art Committee in honor of Walter C. Calvert and Soroptimist International of Gresham.
A special dedication event will take place on Saturday, October 23rd from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm on the Plaza and will include tributes to each of the art forms represented by the sculpture – including visual art, music, literature and dance. Additionally kid friendly free activities will take place during the event to encourage hands on fun for families. Formal festivities begin at 12 noon. The Center for the Arts Foundation is a Gresham based nonprofit whose mission is to encourage, facilitate and grow arts and culture events in the Gresham/East metro area. The Foundation manages the Center for the Arts Plaza on behalf of the City of Gresham. RACC helped to administer this project.
