Western Arts Alliance (WAA) is accepting applications from performing artists, companies, or their agents for its Juried Showcase Program now through April 2, 2012. The Juried Showcase is a core component of the 2012 WAA Annual Conference – the largest booking conference in the West – and will take place on September 6 at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Denver, Colorado. The NCPA houses two beautiful venues perfect for showcasing all genres of performance: proscenium stage Gates Concert Hall will highlight theatre, amplified music and dance; while Hamilton Recital Hall is a chamber musician’s dream – complete with a Steinway concert grand and pipe organ.

About the Western Arts Alliance Juried Showcase Program
The goal of the program is to present a diverse range of outstanding performance to WAA’s 300+ presenter and conference attendees. Up to seven artists are selected through a competitive process adjudicated by a committee of WAA members, and each artist performance is 15 minutes in duration. The 2.5 hour showcase is the only official showcasing option at the WAA Conference that does not compete with any other scheduled activities. Hospitality will be provided throughout the program, as will shuttle service between the NCPA and the WAA Conference Hotel, the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center.

A WAA membership is not required in order to apply; the application fee is $65. Artists selected for the Juried Showcase are required to be either members or represented by a WAA member, and be registered for the WAA Conference by early-summer 2012. A $635 showcase fee covers tech rehearsal, equipment and stage labor costs. All juried showcase artists receive two complimentary One-Day Passes to attend the conference, as well as a complimentary showcase listing on the WAA Website and in the WAA Conference Guide.
